Dr. Ananya Mishra
Dr. Ananya Mishra is a board-certified pediatrician. She grew up in Austin, TX and attended Emory University in Atlanta, GA for her undergraduate education, where she majored in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology and minored in Spanish. Dr. Mishra received her medical education at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, OH, graduating in 2019. Her pediatrics residency was completed in 2022 at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. After training, Dr. Mishra moved to the Hampton Roads area to serve the community as an outpatient pediatrician.
Dr. Mishra is excited to serve the children and families in Newport News, VA, as a physician with Pediatrics at Oyster Point. She strongly believes that all children have unique individual strengths, and she looks forward to working with her patients and their parents to help them fulfill their potential. Dr. Mishra has been a lifelong patient herself, with significant eczema and food allergies as well as a history of asthma, aiming to apply her own experiences to inform her management of patients with atopic/allergic conditions. Additionally, she has a passion for treating patients who have depression, anxiety, and/or ADHD and hopes to reduce the stigma of having mental health conditions. Other clinical interests of hers include prematurity, anemia, and menstrual health. She looks forward to getting to know her patients and their families and developing a relationship with them based on trust and compassion.
In her spare time, Dr. Mishra enjoys spending time with her husband, reading, traveling, and eating good food. She is currently learning to play the guitar and reacquainting herself with her previous musical talent, as she is a trained singer and dancer. She learned Bharatanatyam and Odissi dance (forms of Indian classical dance), sung in school choirs throughout grade school and college, and received extensive training in Hindustani classical music.
